Ling Gala Tulku
Gala Tulku was born in Central Tibet near Lhasa city in year 1975. At age
of 5 he went to local Tibetan school run by Chinese and studied up to three
grades (class). At age of nine he left Tibet with his uncle and get first audience
with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in BhodGaya and received Manjushri teaching
accidentally without preplan which is main deity of His predecessor .Same year
he enter the Tibetan children's Village school and grow up there as hard working
student and studied up to ninth (Class) standard. Meanwhile in late 80s search
party from Batha Monastery in upper Dhenma region in Dhege provinces in Kham
were approached His Holiness the Dalai Lama for search of reincarnation of their
prominent Lama (Gala Rinpoche) of Batha Monastery. Finally in year 1990 His
Holiness the Dalai Lama recognized him as seventh reincarnation of Ling Gala
Tulku. In 1991 he got audience with His Holiness and directed to go to Drepung
to study five Buddhist Texts and same year he was enthroned in Drepung Loseling
College and enrolled in monastic studies since than he intensively engage in
his Dharma studies and completed his two years of primary logic study, he completed
his 7 years study of perfection of Wisdom, there after he completed his 3 years
study in Middle path and now he is studying his second year study of Vinaya.
And presently he is editor of Drepung Loseling News Magazine and
Drepung Loseling website ».
His Holiness Buddha Maitreya has sponsored the construction of Ling Gala
Tulku's residence at Drepung Ling Khamtsen as well as providing allowances to several
of the Tulkus of the Khamtsen, including Gala Tulku to meet day to day needs.
